Adopting a sufficient cleaning and maintenance schedule will maximize your ROI and ensure dependability.

Commercial & Utility

Operating in Commercial and Utility scale solar farms, we offer services for all types of projects for O&M companies and asset managers. Our robotic solutions are designed for what works best in the field and have been proven globally. We increase your solar installation ROI, eliminating the short-and long-term financial losses of soiling on panels, and getting your panels back to top performance for higher production. We offer professional Commercial and utility scale solar panel cleaning services that are safe, effective, and affordable.

Residential & Municipal

These installations range from a few panels to a few thousand panels. They can be found on private homes, schools, public and government buildings, factories and warehouses. After the decision is made to invest in solar equipment, it is pertinent to consider the cleaning and maintenance needs. Depending on your location and the climate, the frequency of cleaning will vary. Most sites only need to be cleaned twice a year and in most cases the decrease in production averages 20% – 30% between cleanings. You will see continuous annual output decreases unless your modules are cleaned regularly. We offer professional Residential and Municipal solar panel cleaning services that are safe, effective, and affordable.

Thermal Imaging Services

Our infrared camera allows us to detect defects on new and existing installations before they become problematic.

  • Efficient method for detection of power losses
  • Detection of a wide range of local faults and irregularities
  • Visualisation allows initial on-site evaluation
  • Plant system condition monitoring over time with stored data
  • Application in running installations
  • State-of-the-art thermographic software for efficient reporting

Frequently Asked Questions

How Often Do My Solar Panels Need to be Cleaned?

Although Manufactures are generally very vague and only specify to Clean as needed, it is a good rule of thumb to visually inspect panels at least monthly and book accordingly. As a Bare Minimum Standard, Installations should be cleaned Annually to remain compliant with warranty and insurance regulations.

Why is Cleaning Important?

You have likely invested a great deal of time and money into the decision to go Solar and having your asset installed. It is important to protect your investment and ensure that it reaches its full operational and lifespan potentials. By adopting a suitable maintenance plan, you are ensuring the highest ROI.

Won’t the Rain Clean My Panels for Me?

Our best analogy is your vehicle. When our cars are left out in the elements with only rainwater to keep them looking shiny, the result is most often not successful. Now let’s picture our windshields, areas that go untouched by wipers are clearly defined and become contaminated. Solar Panels work the same way and while rainwater may appear to remove the top layer of soiling, a layer of grime actually gets baked onto panels filtering the sun and will continue to build up until proper cleaning is done.

What types of Other Problems Arise from Not Cleaning?

Hot Spots! Hot spots occur when one area of a panel receives more direct sunlight than others, causing it to heat up. Over time, this can cause damage to the panel and reduce its lifespan. By cleaning your solar panels, you can prevent hot spots from forming and extend your investments lifespan.

Can I Use a Pressure Washer?

The Short Answer, NO! The Explanation behind the answer, Solar panels are generally designed to withstand a load of up to 0.78 psi, the average household pressure washer exerts around 2000 -3000 psi. Cleaning panels with a pressure washer has been proven to: Void most manufacturers’ warranty, Destroy the ARC (Anti Reflective Coating), Destroy the sealing and Create micro-cracks. Never Pressure Wash Your Panels!

How Does Panel Contamination Work?

Due to the presence of sunshine and humidity, Natural particles such as dust, pollen, bird droppings, fire ash and smoke combine with Manmade pollutants and get baked onto solar panels. This creates a layer of contamination that is called “Shading”, which reduces the panels ability to take in the photons from the sun and reduces energy generation by about 20-30% between cleanings. The cost of cleaning your investment will generally be a small fraction of the cost compared to the cost of power generation lost to contamination.
